Why the Sports Industry Needs More Voices From HBCUs
Placeholder post — real article copy lands during content integration. A look at why representation pipelines into sports business are still too narrow.

The sports industry likes to talk about representation on the field. It talks a lot less about representation in the front office, the agency, the league office, and the boardroom — the rooms where the business of sports actually gets decided.
The gap isn't talent
It's exposure. Most students never meet someone who's done the job they're curious about, let alone someone who looks like them and went to a school like theirs.
That's the gap Behind the Game exists to close:
- Direct mentorship from working professionals in sports business
- Internship and career pathways that don't depend on who you already know
- Symposiums that put students in the same room as decision-makers
"You can't be what you can't see." — a line every mentorship program uses, because it's still true.
What comes next
This is one of the first two or three seed posts standing up the /articles route. Once real content lands, this placeholder gets swapped for an actual piece — the frontmatter contract stays the same, only the words change.
